SWAC Soccer weekly awards was all Grambling affair

The Grambling State University women’s soccer team swept the weekly Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) awards, announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon. 

Jayla Gage earned the Offensive Player of the Week accolade, and Adrianna Pratt was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Week. Additionally, Madison Covey-Taylorwas awarded Goalkeeper of the Week honors.

Gage a new comer for the Lady Tigers, had three goals this weekend. Two of which were game-winning goals. Gage leads the SWAC in goals scored.

Pratt was pivotal in Grambling’s three shutout victories over the weekend, where they outscored their opponents 9-0. She logged 264 minutes of gameplay, Pratt also showcased her offensive abilities by delivering an assist in a match.

Covey-Taylor excelled in goal, playing 140 minutes of shutout soccer and recording six saves over the weekend.
