According to a probable cause affidavit released by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement FDLE) Florida A&M Athletic Director was charged with grand theft (over $20,000, less than $100,000),a first degree felony; scheme to defraud (over $300.00), a third degree fenony and false claim on a travel voucher, a second degree misdemeanor.  The affidavit outlines 23 separate occasions in which Suggs, while CEO of the Florida Sports Foundation, used her FSF Visa credit card totaling $23,205.96. Florida A&M AD Arrested for Alleged Theft, Investigation Ongoing

Monday, Florida A&M athletic director Angela Suggs was arrested after she allegedly embezzled thousands of dollars from her former employer.  Authorities accused Suggs of using a corporate credit card for personal use to the tune of $24,000. Suggs, while CEO of the Florida Sports Foundation allegedly made cash withdrawals, wire transfers, personal purchases at casinos while on business trips.  Last fall an investigation was initiated and a subsequent audit uncovered Suggs’ alleged falsification of travel vouchers by filing the unauthorized charges as meals or claimed they were accidents.
