Mavericks could be looking to add third star player

From B/R’s Mike Chiari : The Dallas Mavericks have reportedly expressed trade interest in multiple players as they attempt to add a secondary playmaker in support of superstar guard Luka Doncic.  According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo, Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine and Brooklyn Netsguard Spencer Dinwiddie are among the players the Mavs have set their sights on. Kristaps Porzingis has right knee surgery

Official release via NBA.com: The Dallas Mavericks announced today that Kristaps Porzingis underwent surgery to address a lateral meniscus injury of his right knee. Porzingis suffered the injury in Game 1 of the Mavericks’ opening-round series against the L.A. Clippers on Aug. 17. Porzingis will begin rehab immediately and there is no timetable set at this time.

Dallas Mavericks team facilities to remain closed

Wednesday the Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers announcing they would reopen their team’s facilities this week. The Los Angeles Lakers soon after announced they had targeted mid-May to reopen theirs, while the Houston Rockets indicates they would hold off until May 18. Teams in areas that have relaxed stay home orders have the option to follow suit and reopen facilities, per NBA rules. The Dallas Mavericks will not be one of those ball clubs. Dallas Mavericks power forward Kristaps Porzingis is expected to play tonight, ending an eight-game absence, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon. Porzingis is averaging 17.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game but has his play has been up and down, which should be expected as he is still working his way back from the torn ACL that cost him the last third of what turned out to be his final season with the Knicks as well as the entire 2018-19 campaign.
