I have been highly critical of J Balvin’s previous Jordan Brand collaborative efforts. An initial look at the “Rio” J Balvin x Air Jordan

Jordan Brand saw fit to turn J Balvin loose for the fourth time on an Air Jordan silhouette , with the Air Jordan 3 once again serving as his canvas. Named for Rio, his young son, this collaborative Air Jordan 3 sports a black leather upper with elephant print overlays at the toe and wrappping the heel. Recently images surfaces of the third collaborative sneaker between Jordan Brand and singer J Balvin that appeared to be more intentional than the inital images. Based on these pictures, I may have been a bit hasty in my harsh visual assessment of them. These appear to be by far Balvin’s best executed collaborative Jordan Brand sneaker. After taking visual deifications on both the Air Jordan 1 and 2 , Jordan Brand has decided J Balvin hasn’t done enough damage and naturally saw fit to turn him loose on the Air Jordan 3 it appears. Despite what he did to the Air Jordan 1, someone , or a group of someones, at Jordan Brand thought it a splendid idea to turn JBalvin”s “creativity’” loose, this time on the Air Jordan 2. Latino artist J Balvin will debut these Air Jordan 1s during the halftime performance of Super Bowl LIV. It sports a layered tie-dyed canvas upper with jagged edges. It also featured exposed foam at the tongue and Balvin’s Happy Face logo is present on the left tongue label.
