NBA fines Kyrie Irving for violating Heath and Safety Protocols

from the NBA: NEW YORK — Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving has been fined $50,000 for violating the league’s Health and Safety Protocols, which among other things prohibit attending indoor social gatherings of 15 or more people or entering bars, lounges, clubs or similar establishments, it was announced today by Byron Spruell, President, League Operations. The violation occurred when he attended a private indoor party last weekend. Tuesday, Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder to repair an impingement. The surgery and subsequent recovery means the end of Irving’s season. It was an injury-riddled 2019-20 campaign for Irving , with a myriad of injuries limiting him to just 20 games.
