Lakers head coach Luke Walton told reporters that Lebron James will not play in the team’s Saturday night game against the Golden State Warriors due to “load management.” James returned to lineup after an 18 game absence in their last game against the Clippers.

Lebron James to return tonight against Clippers
After days of speculation of when he would play again, Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward Lebron will finally return to the team’s lineup tonight against the L.A. Clippers. James has missed the team’s 18 previous games after injuring his groin on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors. The team has went just 7-11 in that time, but have also endured injuries to key players Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma as well during that time.

Thursday, the Los Angeles Times’ Brad Turner reported the Lakers presented the Pelicans with five various trade scenarios. One of the proposed deal included Los Angeles sending Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, and first round pick to the Pelicans for their all-world forward/center. Although the other scenarios were not disclosed, Turner adds the Lakers are seeking to get a deal done prior to the NBA’s February 7 trade deadline to avoid the AD sweepstakes opening up to other teams.
