LeBron injury update: Status is day-to-day after MRI

When Lebron James left in the third quarter of the Lakers 127-101 Christmas Day beat down of the defending champion Golden State Warriors, there was certainly cause for concern in Lakerland. However it appears there is a collective sigh breathed in Los Angeles. That is because according to a report form Shams Charania of The Athletic, the MRI came back showing no structural damage and that Lebron will be day-to-day. Even Lebron himself was relieved with the news from the MRI, considering he told ESPN, “With injuries, I’m never too…

So tampering is ok now?

Lebron James recent comments regarding his thoughts on potentially playing with New Orleans Pelicans power forward Anthony Davis stokes the long-simmering fires of rumours of Davis joining the Lakers.  It is also a clear case of tampering.  As stated in Article 35A of the NBA constitution, “No person may, directly or indirectly, entice, induce, persuade, or attempt to entice, induce or persuade, any Player who is under contract to, or whose exclusive negotiating rights are held by, any other Member of the Association. I’m layman’s terms, if you are on…

Lakers setting sights on Trevor Ariza

According to espn.com’s Adrian Wojnarowski the Los Angeles Lakers are in talks to try to acquire the services of Phoenix Suns forward Trevor Ariza. It appears that both teams are working on bringing a third club into the deal that would take on Lakers guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as a component of a potentially bigger trade. For Phoenix, the asking price for Ariza is  a playmaking guard as well as a draft asset. With all these workings going on behind the scenes, KCP has veto power in a trade so he had…

What I saw Lakers v Rockets: Trouble on the horizon in Lakerland??

Saturday night marked the Staples Center unveiling of this highly publicized and scrutinized version of the Los Angeles Lakers, starring LeBron James. It was an entertaining game but it will be most remembered for this little incident: https://youtu.be/8iA94g0A7lE   Now the fisticuffs themselves do not bother me; the typical NBA altercation these days is usually just some vociferous smack talk and maybe pushing and shoving (especially if there are people around to hold them back before anything could really happen). The main protagonists Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul, decided to…

What I saw in the Lakers/Blazers game

The Lebron James era in Lakerland was officially rolled out in games that count last night against Portland. Though the Lakers came up short, losing 128-119, I saw a lot of positives ,and a few negatives ,out of this iteration of Los Angeles. The caveat to this analysis is that this is just after one game so the right activities can be stopped and the wrong ones can be perpetuated. Overall Effort and Intensity Though Luke Walton’s Lakers clubs have not been successful in terms of wins and losses, one…

Lebron James is the best player and the biggest mover of the needle in the NBA. When he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers it has thrust the team back into the spotlight.
