It appears Lebron James’ first playoff-less offeseason in over a decade will start even earlier than anticipated. Earlier today the Los Angeles Lakers announced that Lebron James will not play in the club’s Wednesday night game against the Utah Jazz due to ( say it with me) load management. This will be his third game missed in the Lakers’ last seven outings. It seems the missed games will pile up as the Lakers will not be participants in this year’s postseason. Look to see more Kyle Kuzma and Lance Stephenson in James’ absence.

Earlier today the Los Angeles Lakers made the announcement that forward Brandon Ingram will be out for the remainder of this season following him being diagnosed with Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) in his right arm. Though DVT may not be a commonly known medical issue, that in no way detracts from its potential severity. Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving will play when the team takes on the Lakers Saturday night. Head coach Brad Stevens said that Irving is “fine” and he’s ready to roll. The All-Star point guard had missed the previous game, against the Sacramento Kings, with a left thigh contusion.

According to LA Times Lakers beat writer Tania Ganguli, Los Angeles Lakers forward will miss the team’s game Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets. Kuzma rolled his ankle in the team’s loss Monday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. Kuzma will undergo an MRI; the X-Ray he had came back negative.

Thursday, the Los Angeles Times’ Brad Turner reported the Lakers presented the Pelicans with five various trade scenarios. One of the proposed deal included Los Angeles sending Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Ivica Zubac, and first round pick to the Pelicans for their all-world forward/center. Although the other scenarios were not disclosed, Turner adds the Lakers are seeking to get a deal done prior to the NBA’s February 7 trade deadline to avoid the AD sweepstakes opening up to other teams.

The Los Angeles Lakers announced Friday that point guard Rajon Rondo has been cleared for full contact practice by the club’s medical staff.
