Second half surge powers Tennessee State to third straight win

After being down at the half, the Tennessee State basketball team picked it up in the second half, outscoring Tennessee Tech 49-30 on the second half to claim victory, 89-77.  Tennessee State jumped out to an early 13-4 lead and continued to show the way for the lion’s share of the half. Tennessee Tech took their first lead of the night at 32-30 on Ray Glascow’s shot from downtown with 6:28 left in the opening half. image via Tennessee State Athletics A rocky third quarter ended up being the Lady Tigers’ undoing as they fell 71-64 to Tennessee Tech.  After the game was tied early at 6 and 8 apiece, a 6-0 Tennessee State burst gave them a 14-8 lead with 2:59 left in the period. Knute Wood’s late-game heroics lift Tennessee State past UT Martin 81-80

Knute Wood canned a three-pointer with 15 ticks left in overtime to propel Tennessee State to an 81-80 win over UT Martin Tuesday night. After Ronald Jessamy’s layup tied the game at 10, TSU was to show the way before Vladimir Salaridze’s layup knotted the game back at 16.
