Russell Westbrook (rest) out against Timberwolves

As I said in one of our previous NBA articles, I set my expectations for the early part of this season as rather low. Expanding furthers on that point was not only that I anticipated a lower quality level of play due to the truncated off and preseason but also to not be surprised if several prominent players do not take the court for more than 60 or so games. We have already seen Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving sit out games for rest and it looks like Russell Westbrook…

John Wall wants out of Washington, talks of Westbrook swap

from Sam Quinn of cbssports.com: Russell Westbrook may want out of Houston, but his enormous contract has made finding a trade destination difficult. John Wall is in a similar situation. They are both poor shooters that appear past their prime from an age and health standpoint. Unsurprisingly, few teams appear interested in taking on that much money for either player, so according to Charania, the Wizards and Rockets are discussing one with…

John Wall will more than likely not suit up for the Washington Wizards this season as he continues to recover from a torn Achilles’ tendon. The recovery seems to be progressing fairly well , as Wall threw down a dunk in a pregame workout in Boston. Hopefully this is a sign that Wall will be able to return close to form, but continued stretches of good health have been hard to come by for Wall over the last 2 seasons, he has played in only 73 games.

Wizards trade Dwight Howard to Grizzlies

The Washington Wizards have trded center Dwight Howard to the Memphis Grizzlies for C.J. Miles in a move that will save Memphis $3.1 million. For Howard it seems his fall from grace continues as the former all-star, and multiple time defensive player of the year and rebounding champ played only 9 games this seasons and will now find himself on at least his 5th different team in the past five seasons. That number could climb, as the Grizzlies are expected to waive of trade Howard.
