Tennessee State begins three-game home stand Saturday v Western Illinois

OPENING TIP: The Tennessee State men’s basketball program will look to get back in the win column when it returns to the Gentry Center to face Western Illinois tomorrow afternoon. This will be the first of three straight home games for the Tigers.

SERIES INFORMATION: This will be the 6th meeting between TSU and WIU. TSU leads the all-time 4-1 series after picking up a 58-57 buzzer-beater win over the Leathernecks on the road in January. This will be just the 2nd matchup since 1958-59.  

TTU NOTES & NUMBERS:

9-5: Florida transfer Jason Jitoboh has been going to work, as the big man is averaging 9.8 ppg and 5.1 boards. He recorded his first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 boards against TTU. He leads the league in blocks (55).  

104: The number of rebounds that Jaylen Jones has this season after grabbing five against TTU. The freshman became just the third Tiger to reach the century mark in total rebounds joining Kinyon Hodges and E.J. Bellinger.

SHARP FROM THE ARC: Christian Brown shot 50 percent from beyond the arc for the second straight game as he finished 3-of-6 against TSU. Brown led the Tigers with 16 points as she was 5-of-8 from the floor.
