Beatdown at Baylor: Tigers mauled by Bears, 93-27

To say it was a rough day at the office for the Tennessee State women’s basketball team would be a gross understatement.

In a game whose competitive portion didn’t last as long as took the reader to peruse this sentence, the TSU squad was decimated by the no. 18 Baylor Bears,93-27.

Tennessee State got off to a good start, taking a 3-0 lead on Gia Adams’ with 9:43 left in the first quarter.

They would never lead in the contest again.

Baylor jumped on TSU, running off ten straight points to take a 10-3 lead, en route to a 27-13 lead at the end of the quarter. The 14-point deficit was the closest the contest would be from that point forward, as the Tigers did not crack double figures in any of the game’s ensuing three quarters.

Tennessee State left their shooting eye back in Nashville, shooting 21.4% (12-56) from the floor overall, 6.3% (1-16) from downtown and an anemic 33% from the charity stripe. Sierra McCullough was The leading scorer with 4 points

Darianna Littlepage-Buggs paced for bears in double figures with 30 points.

Tennessee State will look to bounce back from this beatdown when they host WilberforceWednesday in another early tip-off, as this contest commences at 11 a.m. CST.
