Tennessee State guard Erica Haynes-Overton was named Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week. Although the Tigers came up empty in their games last week, losing a 67-65 nail biter at home to Stetson and a decisive 100-72 beatdown at Southern Illinois, Haynes-Overton averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals in the two matchups. Tennessee State’s Gia Adams earns OVC Player of the Week Honours

The Ohio Valley Conference announced that Tennessee State sophomore guard Gia Adams was named its Player of the Week. In two games last week, against Fisk and Kansas City, the Jersey Village product averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in helping the Lady Tigers to a 1-1 record.
