Tennessee State men’s tennis gets sixth straight victory

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State men’s tennis team took down Southern Indiana 5-2 on Saturday to win their sixth straight match. The win moves TSU to 10-12 (6-2 Horizon) this spring.
 
TSU started off the match strong as they won 2-of-3 matches in the doubles portion of play to take the early 1-0 lead. Nil Moinet / Pierre Copin earned a 6-0 sweep at line two, while Jonasz Dziopak and Diego Britt-Alvarez won 7-5 in a battle at line three.
 
The Tigers took their momentum in singles play as they won five four sets. Dziopak continued his strong play in the No. 1 singles spot as he won 6-3, 6-2.
 
Moinet had no problem at line three as he won 6-4, 6-0, followed by Taj Hibbert who earned a 6-0, 6-2 win in the four spot. Copin closed out the Tiger lineup with a 6-5, 6-2 win at line six.
 
The Tigers will have a quick turnaround as they are set to be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they are set to host Tennessee Tech at 12:00 p.m.
