Tennessee State women’s hoops looks for third straight home win

OPENING TIP — The Tennessee State women’s basketball team will look to pick up its third straight win inside the Gentry Center on Thursday night as they will host Tennessee Tech at 5:00 p.m. The Lady Tigers and Golden Eagles both enter tomorrow night’s matchup with a 2-3 record in Ohio Valley Conference play.

SERIES INFORMATION: This will be the 79th contest between TSU and TTU. The Golden Eagles lead the series 63-15. The Lady Tigers and Golden Eagles are 2-2 in their last four matchups after earning season splits the past two years.

27: The number of points that Eboni Williams needs to hit 1,000 for her career. Williams had her 7th double-digit scoring game of the season against Lindenwood after finishing with 11 points in the win.

29: The number of points that Sanaa’ St. Andre scored against Lindenwood. Her 29-point performance marked a new career high, and it led to the Kansas City transfer earning two OVC weekly honors as she was named the Player and Newcomer of the Week. She is averaging 13.1 ppg on the season and 17.6 ppg through five OVC games.

POINT PRODUCTION: The Lady Tigers have the second-highest-scoring offense in the OVC at 74.0 ppg through five games. After a non-conference slate that did not see a high offensive production, TSU has finished with 83 points twice in league play and with 69+ in four of five games.
