According to Pete Nakos of On3sports, Tennessee State freshman linebacker Sanders Ellis has entered the transfer portal.
This is the second time this offseason season that Ellis has entered the transfer portal. He initially entered the portal In December, shortly after Tennessee State was defeated 41-27 by Montana in the FCS Playoffs.
The Nashville, TN native paid immediate dividends once injuries thrust him into the starting lineup, recording 86 total tackles( 59 solos, 27 assisted), 15.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, 2 passes defensed, and 3 fumble recoveries. His gridiron exploits led Ellis to be named a finalist for the Jerry Rice Award as well as OVC Defensive Freshman of the Year.
