Tuskegee ends Albany State softball season

The Albany State Golden Rams softball team’s season came to an end on Wednesday evening in the 2023 SIAC Softball Tournament that is being held at the Gordon Park Sports Complex in Albany, Georgia.
 
On Tuesday, the Golden Rams defeated the Miles College Golden Bears (11-2) in the 1stround of the SIAC Tournament.  In the 2nd round, the Golden Rams lost (3-1) to the Spring Hill College Badgers.  That defeat sent the Golden Rams into the loser’s bracket.
 
On today, the Golden Rams played the Lane College Dragons in the loser’s bracket.  Madison Hurt hit a single to right field to score the winning run for the Golden Rams in the bottom of the 8th inning.  Trista Murphy was the winning pitcher as the Golden Rams advanced to play the Tuskegee Golden Tigers in the next round.
 
The Golden Rams couldn’t overcome three fielding errors as they were defeated (6-1) by the Tuskegee Golden Tigers.  The highlight of the game for the Golden Rams was senior Glory Seay hitting a solo home run over the left field fence in the 7th inning in her final at bat for the Golden Rams.  Romona McLeod pitched 4.2 innings for the Golden Rams while Mackenzie Chamblee pitched 1.1 innings.
