Nigerian fashion designer Mimi Plange and Nike Basketball are once again teaming up, this on a dual set of LeBron 18 Lows; last year the two joined forces on the “Higher Learning” and ”Daughters” 18 Lows.
The diametrically opposed natures of individuality and tribalism inspired the ”Scarred Perfection” colorway. The practice of African body adornment is homaged to with the embroidery and accenting seen throughout the upper.
Inspired by the Bantu People, a group of over 400 different ethnic groups from Cameroon to South Africa that are united by a common language and culture, the ”Mad King” features iconography symbolizing greatness, wisdom, unity, and the future. The hues in its color scheme represent water, sky, earth and forest.
The ”Mad King” and ”Scarred Perfection” are planned to debut October 14 exclusively at mimiplange.com.
