The head football coach at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Alonzo Hampton, has announced the hiring of Tom Manley as the running backs coach and special teams coordinator.

Coach Manley joins the Golden Lions staff after spending the last two seasons as the Offensive Coordinator at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania.

During his time at Lincoln, Coach Manley engineered an offense that set 11 school records in 2023. He coached both the CIAA offensive player of the year, sophomore quarterback Isiah Freeman, and HBCU Americans Malachi Langley. In the 2022 season, Coach Manley guided true freshman Isaiah Freeman to several accolades, including CIAA Rookie of the Week (3 times), 2nd team All-CIAA, and CIAA Offensive Rookie of the Year. He also coached Sophomore running back Amir Gerald, who averaged 6.3 yards per carry on 89 attempts and was named to the 2nd Team All-CIAA.

Before his time at Lincoln, he spent four years at Western Connecticut State University, with his final role being Offensive Coordinator/Academic Coordinator. During his tenure there, the offense consistently averaged over 30 points per game.

Prior to his position at Western Connecticut, Manley spent five years at Plymouth State University, coaching as the Offensive Line Coach for three seasons and as the Defensive Ends Coach for the last two seasons. He coached two All-MASCAC players at Plymouth and contributed to the Panthers winning the 2017 MASCAC title.

Tom Manley played offensive line at Castleton University, where he was a four-year starter and earned all-conference honors.
