Week 2 SIAC Basketballers of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (November 22, 2022) – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its men’s and women’s basketball Players of the Week.

For women, Iamunique Bowie (Spring Hill) was named Player of the Week, while Unique Miller (Albany State) earned Newcomer of the Week.

For men, Malachi McCoy (Benedict) was named Player of the Week, alongside teammate, Tim Moore (Benedict) who earned Newcomer of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.

Women’s Basketball

PLAYER OF THE WEEK –  Iamunique Bowie, Spring Hill| Guard  |  Freshman  |  Mobile, AL



The freshman guard led Spring Hill against AUM on Tuesday with 27 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, two assists and one steal while going 8-8 from the free throw line. On Saturday night, the Mobile, Ala., native led SHC to a 66-65 home opener win over crosstown rival Mobile. She recorded a double-double with 28 points and 11 rebounds. 



NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK– Unique Miller, Albany State| Center  |  Sophomore  |  Atlanta, GA



Unique Miller is averaging 10.5 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Golden Rams. On Tuesday, Miller had 11 points, seven rebounds, and four assists in a 68-60 win over Tuskegee. The sophomore center also had 17 points, seven, rebounds and two steals against Columbus State last Saturday.

Men’s Basketball

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Malachi McCoy, Benedict| Forward  |  Senior |  Berry Islands, Bahamas


McCoy had a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds in Benedict’s 102-90 road victory against Bluefield State. McCoy hit 8-of-10 field goals. His 18 rebounds matched his career high. He added two assists, one block, and one steal.


NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK– Tim Moore, Benedict| Forward  |  Junior  |  Houston, TX



Tim Moore, a junior transfer, had a season-high 25 points to lead Benedict to a 102-90 victory over Bluefield State in their only game of the week. Moore hit 11-of-18 shots and had five rebounds and three blocked shots before fouling out with 3-minutes remaining in the game.
