Week 3 SIAC Tracklete Honours

ATLANTA, Ga. (March 28, 2023) – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.

Kibren Moore (Albany State) and Gabriel Stephens (Tuskegee) were named this week’s men and women Track Athletes of the Week, alongside Joe Williams (Fort Valley State) and Amani Wagner (Kentucky State) who collected this week’s men and women Field Athletes of the Week honor.

Women’s Track and Field
Track Performer of the Week – Gabriel Stephens, Tuskegee


Stephens moved up a number of spots on the SIAC Outdoor Performance List after her weekend performance at the 2023 Mississippi State Bulldog Relays running a 12.53 to place her eighth in the 100-meter dash. In the 200-meter dash, she finished with a time of 25.64 placing her seventh on the SIAC Outdoor Performance List.


Field Performer of the Week – Amani Wagner, Kentucky State


Wagner, a senior at Kentucky State, won the women’s hammer throw last weekend at the Morehouse Relays with a throw of 43.43 meters (142′ 6″). The senior also had a top ten finish in the women’s shot put with a throw of 11.70 meters (38′ 4.75″).


Men’s Track and Field
Track Performer of the Week – Kibren Moore, Albany State


Moore, of Albany State, won the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.37 last weekend at the Morehouse Relays. He also finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.55 leading the Golden Rams to a third place finish out of 10 teams with 171 points.



Field Performer of the Week – Joe Williams, Fort Valley State


At the Morehouse Relays, Williams won the shot put with a throw of 14.25 meters, the top throw by 1.07 meters. He also finished third in the javelin even with a throw of 48.31 meters.
