The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Ed Gilbert of Albany State and Kaylah Hutson of Central State were named this week’s men and women Track Performers of the Week, alongside Isaac Moody of Albany State and Sydney Blackburn of Albany State collected this week’s men and women Field Performers of the Week honor.
Women’s Track and Field
Track Performer of the Week – Kaylah Hutson, Central State
This week, Kayla placed 1st in the 400 meter hurdles, with a time of 1:04.41. Kayla also contributed to the 400×4 relay, where her team placed 2nd.
Field Performer of the Week – Sydney Blackburn, Albany State
Sydney captured 1st place in the women’s discus throw at the UWG Legends Meet, with a throw of 43.80 meters.
Men’s Track and Field
Track Performer of the Week – Ed Gilbert, Albany State
At the UWG Legends Meet, Gilbert placed 1st in the 100 meters, with a time of 10.66. Ed also competed in the 200 meters, and ran a time of 21.94.
Field Performer of the Week – Isaac Moody, Albany State
At the UWG Legends Meet, Moody placed 2nd in the discus, with a throw of 37.24 meters.
