Week 4 SIAC Volleyball Players of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. (March 2, 2023) – Cameron Lee (Central State) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Men’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Victor Scherer (Central State)earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Kenyon Haynes (Edward Waters) was tabbed Setter of the Week, released by the league office on Thursday.



OFFENSIVE – Cameron Lee, Sophomore, Outside Hitter, Central State


Central State sophomore Cameron Lee led the CSU attack last week with 17 kills against Edward Waters with a .191 hitting percentage and 12 kills against Benedict with a .258 hitting percentage.


DEFENSIVE – Victor Scherer, Sophomore, Libero, Central State



Central State libero Victor Scherer continues to rank among the top players in the country in digs per set. Scherer recorded 19 digs against Edward Waters and 15 digs against Benedict. Scherer currently leads the SIAC and is among the top five in the nation with 3.22 digs per set.



SETTER – Kenyon Haynes, Sophomore, Setter, Edward Waters


In three matches, EWU’s sophomore setter Kenyon Haynes totaled 72 assists, 20 digs, and four service aces, and two blocks last week. In the opening win against Central State had 32 assists, 11 digs, and three aces. He added 12 assists, two digs, and two kills against Kentucky State and finished with 28 assists, seven digs and a block in Game 2 against Kentucky State.
