Yaxel Lendeborg Dominates Summer League Debut with Perfect Shooting for Warriors

Yaxel Lendeborg wasted no time making an impression in his NBA Summer League debut.

The Golden State Warriors rookie turned in one of the most efficient performances of the opening weekend, finishing with 19 points, five rebounds, six assists, one steal, and one block while shooting a flawless 6-for-6 from the field, including 4-for-4 from three-point range, in just 22 minutes. His all-around effort helped power the Warriors to a convincing 104-72 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in the California Classic.

Lendeborg was on fire from the opening tip. He buried his first three-point attempt in transition and continued to stretch the floor throughout the first half, knocking down four triples without a miss. By halftime, he had already scored 16 points while showcasing the versatile skill set that made him one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2026 NBA Draft.

While the scoring immediately grabbed attention, Lendeborg’s passing and basketball IQ were equally impressive. He consistently found teammates for easy baskets, recording six assists and demonstrating the playmaking ability that separates him from many forwards entering the league.

Defensively, the 6-foot-9 rookie also flashed his potential by collecting a steal and a block, although he was quick to acknowledge there is room for improvement. After the game, Lendeborg graded his performance as a “B,” pointing to defensive rotations and four turnovers as areas he wants to clean up despite the eye-popping stat line.

Golden State selected Lendeborg with the 11th overall pick because of his versatility, and his first Summer League appearance offered a glimpse of why the organization is so high on him. A forward capable of scoring efficiently, facilitating offense, defending multiple positions, and stretching the floor is a valuable commodity in today’s NBA.

It’s only one Summer League game, but Lendeborg’s debut couldn’t have gone much better. If he continues to build on this performance, the Warriors may have found an immediate contributor with the potential to become an important piece of their future.
