The “Year of the Horse” Kobe VIII debuted in 2014 as part of Nike’s Chinese Zodiac Collection and they are primed to make their return in 2026.
Featuring updated Protro tech, they sport an eye-catching light crimson knit upper adorned with a large gold Swoosh on the lateral side, with smaller such branding present on the medial ankle.
Gold also stands in on the Kobe logo perched atop the tongue as well as the Kobe signature on the external heel counter. Backing the tongue is a horse graphic, further tying the theme of the sneaker together.
Underneath resides a red foam midsole and a blue translucent rubber outsole.
The “Year of the Horse” Kobe VIII Protro is scheduled to make its return January 31 at nike.com and select retail establishments. They will carry a 200 USD sticker price.
