BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Texas Southern’s PJ Henry and Southern’s Bryson Etienne for SWAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of non-conference play.

Player of the Week– PJ Henry, Texas Southern


Henry averaged 21.5 points and three rebounds in two games played this past week. He contributed 21 points to go along with five steals in TSU’s season opener at San Francisco. He scored 22 points during the Tigers win over Arizona State. Henry helped put the Tigers in position to win the game scoring eight of 10 consecutive TSU points to bring ASU’s lead down to 51-49 with 3:44 remaining in regulation. He tied the game at 57-all on a three-pointer with 32 seconds remaining in regulation.


Impact Player of the Week, Bryson Etienne, Southern University


Etienne averaged 21.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game while shooting 44.0 percent from the floor and 47.0 percent from three-point range this past week. He contributed a game-high 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field versus UNLV to open the season for the Jaguars.
