FOOD LION MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#23 Robert Osborne, Virginia Union
(Sr, 6-5 Forward – Richmond, VA)

Robert Osborne averaged 17.5 points, 12 rebounds, and 4.5 assists in wins against Shippensburg and Millersville last weekend in the CIAA/PSAC Challenge. The senior led the team in scoring in each game. The Richmond, VA native posted 19 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists against the Raiders and 16 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists against the Maurauders. The forward also shot 50 percent (16-of-32) from the field over the weekend.


FOOD LION MEN’S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#11 Sean Tony Hauser, Fayetteville State
(Jr, 6-9 Forward – Charlotte, NC) 

In two games over the weekend, Sean Tony Hauser averaged 12.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while shooting 63 percent (12-of-19) from the field in the CIAA/PSAC Challenge. In the loss against East Stroudsburg, the junior tallied 16 points and 10 boards and in the win over Frostburg State, the Charlotte, NC native had 11 rebounds and nine points.


FOOD LION MEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

#5 Ezekiel Cannedy, Johnson C. Smith
(Fr, 6-2 Guard – Kings Mountain, NC)

Ezekiel Cannedy began his collegiate career with a bang, averaging a conference-high 25.5 points after two games. The Kings Mountain, NC led the Golden Bulls in a 74-62 win over Newberry, registering 34 points on 13-of-20 shooting from the field, which including making seven of 11 three pointers and 20 points in the second half. In his first game against Catawba, the guard recorded 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists off the bench. The freshman shot 56 percent from the field, 44 percent from deep, and 80 percent at the charity stripe. 


FOOD LION WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#11 Ny Langley, Virginia Union
(Jr, 5-10 Forward – Greenville, NC)

Ny Langley averaged an impressive double-double of 21 points and 16.5 rebounds in two games last weekend for the CIAA/PSAC Challenge. In the loss against East Stroudsburg, the Greenville, NC native totaled 22 points and 22 boards, while adding two steals and a block. In the win against Millersville, the junior finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and a steal while going 8-of-13 from the field.


FOOD LION WOMEN’S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

#23 Kamille Pickens, Elizabeth City State
(Sr, 5-10 Forward – Jacksonville, FL)

Kamille Pickens tallied 15 points, 18 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks in a pair of wins over Albany State and Clark Atlanta. The senior had nine rebounds in each contest with two blocks and a steal against the Golden Rams and two steals versus the Panthers. 


FOOD LION WOMEN’S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

#13 Jakaiya Mack, Winston-Salem State
(Fr, 5-10 Guard – Greenville, SC)

Jakaiya Mack totaled 9 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and three steals in a 1-1 weekend for the Rams. The Greenville, SC native had nine points, five rebounds, and two steals in her first collegiate game, which came against Fairmont State. The freshman added a team-high seven boards, plus two assists, and a steal in the win over Concord.
