Norfolk State’s Terron Mallory named HBCU Defensive Back of the Week

title image via Norfolk State Athletics Wednesday afternoon, Norfolk State’s Terron Mallory was named the HBCU Defensive Back of the Week by the Jim Thorpe Awards. Though the Spartans got it handed to them 42-3 by the Pirates of East Carolina, despite forcing six turnovers, Mallory had himself a game. The graduate defensive back accounted for two of the forced turnovers by the Norfolk State defense, picking off ECU quarterback Jake Garcia on consecutive possessions, both being in the vicinity of the Spartans’ goal line.  The Aeneas Williams Award Preseason…

Teased by Vanessa Bryant earlier this year, this Air Force 1Low is reportedly inspired by Kobe Bryant’s sneaker free agency during the 2002-03 season. If you read our article on Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant being inducted into the Hall of Fame of his alma mater, Murray State, then you saw these in the special package that Nike made in commemoration of the momentous occasion. They sport a double mesh upper with a claw scratch aesthetic seen on both levels of the mesh. In the Indiana Fever’s highly anticipated game with the Chicago Sky, Caitlin Clark broke out a new Kobe VI Protro PE. In a performance that would have brought a smile to their namesake, dropped a career-high 31 points and dropped 12 dimes in the Fever’s 100-81 thumping of Chicago Sky Friday night.  Clark’s Kobe VI Protro sports light blue scales situated atop a similarly colored and white upper. An initial look at the “SoleFly” Air Jordan 12

Owned by Michael Jordan’s brother-in-law, Carlos Prieto, Miami, FL-based boutique SoleFly is continuing its collaborative relationship with Jordan Brand with this upcoming Air Jordan 12.  An initial image of the “SoleFly” Air Jordan 12 has come to light.  This upcoming Jordan 12 sports a white ribbed leather upper with violet mudguards on both sides. PE Corner: The “Phoenix Mercury” Kobe VIII Protro

This duo of Kobe VIII player exclusives was made with the Phoenix Mercury in mind. One pair features an orange engineered mesh upper with a purple Swoosh on the lateral side, with similarly presented, but smaller branding on the medial ankle.
