ATLANTA, Ga. | The Alabama A&M University men’s basketball team could not get much going offensively, struggling from the floor by shooting nearly 28 percent as the Bulldogs fell, 70-49, to Georgia Tech on Saturday afternoon at McCamish Pavilion.
Alabama A&M (1-7), which went nearly six minutes without a basket late in the first half as Georgia Tech, which shot 47.8 percent from the floor in the opening period, took a 17-point lead (32-15). The Yellow Jackets (5-3) took advantage of AAMU’s struggles from the floor in the second half in pulling away for the victory.
Chad Moodie came off the bench to provide eight points, three rebounds and two blocked shots. Caleb Blackwell added seven points, two boards, a team-high four steals and one assist. AC Bryantand Dailin Smith each recorded six points.
Kowacie Reeves scored 14 of his game-high 20 points in the first half, along with 10 rebounds, one assist and one block. Miles Kelly did all his damage in the first half, with 11 points and four boards, while Tyzhaun Claude added 10 points, nine boards and two assists.
