The MEAC has announced its Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors, presented by Wells Fargo, for games played last week. Norfolk State guard Anthony McComb III was named Player of the Week, Howard guard Cedric Taylor III earned Defensive Player of the Week, and Norfolk State guard Adrean Newton was selected as Rookie of the Week.
Anthony McComb III | Guard | Norfolk State

McComb III (G, Sr., 6-3, 180, Dayton, Ohio) delivered a standout week, highlighted by a game-high 29 points in a conference victory over Coppin State. He shot 10-of-16 from the field, including six 3-pointers, while adding three rebounds, six assists, and three steals. McComb also poured in 25 points in a non-conference win over Elizabeth City State, shooting 7-of-11 (65%) from the floor and contributing seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
Cedric Taylor III | Guard | Howard

Taylor III (G, Jr., 6-7, 210, Atlanta, Ga.) anchored Howard’s defensive effort while also providing offensive production. He grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds with one steal in a non-conference win over Morehouse. Against Morgan State, Taylor added six rebounds, two steals, and two blocked shots. Offensively, he posted a double-double against Morehouse with 16 points and 13 rebounds, along with seven assists, and followed with a 29-point performance versus Morgan State.
Adrean Newton | Guard | Norfolk State

Newton (G, Fr., 6-0, 165, Norfolk, Va.) was efficient in limited minutes, shooting a perfect 3-of-3 from the field, including his lone 3-point attempt, to score seven points in a conference win over Coppin State. He also recorded one rebound, three assists, and one steal in 12 minutes of action.
Other Top Performers
DeMariontay Hall (Coppin State) totaled 16 points, four rebounds, and one steal against Norfolk State.
Alfred Worrell Jr. (Morgan State) scored 23 points with one rebound, two assists, and one steal in a one-point victory over Howard.
