The Norfolk State Spartans women’s basketball continue to bolster their roster this offseason, adding forward Alexis Davis out of the transfer portal.
Davis arrives in Norfolk after most recently suiting up for the Monmouth Hawks women’s basketball, following an earlier stint with the Buffalo Bulls women’s basketball. The 6-foot forward brings a blend of experience, rebounding ability, and frontcourt toughness that should immediately factor into the Spartans’ rotation.
During the 2025–26 season at Monmouth, Davis averaged 7.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 44.6% from the field. Prior to that, she made her mark at Buffalo, where she averaged 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds, earning 20 starts and recording multiple double-doubles.
Davis has carved out a reputation as a physical presence in the paint, consistently impacting games on the glass while providing reliable interior scoring. Her rebounding prowess will aid a Lady Spartans team that was middle of the road in MEAC, averaging 37.7 rebounds per game , but had a -1.7 margin on the boards per contest.
With her experience across multiple conferences and proven production, Davis could step into a key role right away—whether as a starter or a major contributor off the bench.
As the Spartans continue to reshape their roster through the portal, the addition of Davis signals a clear emphasis on toughness, rebounding, and veteran presence in the frontcourt.
