The Philadelphia 76ers continue to add depth to their backcourt, agreeing to a two-way contract with free agent guard Caleb Love, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Love joins Philadelphia after spending last season with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he showcased his scoring ability and flashed the offensive talent that made him one of college basketball’s most recognizable guards. His ability to create shots, knock down perimeter jumpers, and provide instant offense gives the 76ers another intriguing developmental piece.
The two-way contract allows Love to split time between the 76ers and the organization’s G League affiliate while remaining eligible for up to 50 NBA regular-season games. Strong performances could position him to earn a standard NBA contract later in the season.
Philadelphia has been one of the NBA’s busiest teams this offseason, reshaping its roster with several notable additions while continuing to invest in young talent. Love now gets an opportunity to compete for minutes in a revamped backcourt and prove he belongs at the NBA level full time.
For Love, the signing represents another chance to establish himself in the league. If he can provide consistent scoring, improved decision-making, and reliable defense, he could become one of the more impactful two-way players in the NBA this season.
The 76ers will open Summer League play later this month, where Love is expected to have an opportunity to make an early impression on Philadelphia’s coaching staff.
