Jordan Brand is bringing back another fan-favorite retro.
The “Gym Red”Air Jordan 9 has officially been confirmed to return on May 22, 2027, marking the first retro of the popular non-OG colorway since it debuted in 2019. The release is expected to arrive in full-family sizing with an adult retail price of $215.
The sneaker features a clean white leather upper paired with a glossy gym red patent leather mudguard that wraps around the lower half of the shoe. Black accents on the tongue, lining, heel tab, and Jumpman branding provide contrast, while the signature Air Jordan 9 outsole with its multilingual detailing returns to complete the classic look. Reports also indicate the retro will feature an updated shape that more closely resembles the original Air Jordan 9 mold.
Although Michael Jordan never wore the Air Jordan 9 during an NBA game due to his first retirement, the silhouette has become one of the most respected models in the Air Jordan line. The “Gym Red” edition has grown into one of the standout modern colorways, thanks to its bold Chicago-inspired color blocking and patent leather finish.
With an official release date now locked in, sneakerheads can begin planning for what is expected to be one of Jordan Brand’s most anticipated retros of 2027.
