If it were not already obvious enough Jordan Brand gets a sadistic kick out of toying with fans of the ”Taxi” Air Jordan 12, as they have released over the past several years that are visually similar to that colourway but with a few slight differences, with two of the more blatant examples being 2017’s ”Chinese New Year” and the ”Royalty” from 2021.
It is no secret why the Brand engages in such practices, while it may annoy fans of the ”Taxis” it also stokes the fires of hype and anticipation, all but assuring whenever they are brought back, their sell-through is all but a foregone conclusion.
This upcoming children’s-specific Air Jordan 12 is the latest example of the ”Taxi” sneaker-tease. It takes the color-blocking of the ”Taxi” ( white upper, black mudgaurds- but these are not lizard print) but adds an embroidered floral pattern on the heels. TWO3 and a Jumpman is found on the tongue with the text “JORDAN” and ”QUALITY INSPIRED BY THE GREATEST PLAYER EVER” present on the Jumpman-branded tab on the rear heel.
Underneath resides a black and white midsole and a black rubber outsole with white branding and traction sections.
The ” Air Garden” Air Jordan 12 is, as it currently stands, is set to release December 3 at nike.com and select retail venues. They will carry a 150 USD sticker price.
