Alabama A&M Game Notes | Central State Game Notes
MOBILE, Ala, – Alabama State will face Central State in the Gulf Coast Challenge at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama on Saturday. Kickoff has been slated for 6:00 p.m.
Alabama A&M fell short to the Samford Bulldogs in a 55-21 defeat last week. Despite the loss, Alabama A&M appeared to be on the verge of taking a lead into halftime. Ageel Glass completed four straight passes to lead the Bulldogs deep into Samford territory before a pass attempt across the middle of the field was tipped into the air.
Alabama A&M was on the brink of getting back into the game when the Bulldogs had a first and goal on the opposing 1-yard line. But Alabama A&M was not able to punch the ball into the end zone, turning the ball over on downs.
Jordan Bentley led Alabama A&M with 137 rushing yards on 17 carries. Glass passed for 186 yards and two touchdowns, completing 19 of 33 attempts with two interceptions.
Central State and Alabama A&M have met seven times with the first meeting coming in the 1977 season. The series is currently tied, 3-3-1.
