Albany State falls to Miles, 15-10 in Black College World Series

The Albany State University Golden Rams were defeated by the Miles College Golden Bears (15-10) in the 2022 Black College World Series held at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Alabama.
 
The Golden Rams were held scoreless until the bottom of the 6th inning when Malik Bellreached on a fielder’s choice to score Lachlan Ross to make the score (10-1).  The Golden Rams scored 2 more runs when Hill Corleydoubled to left field to score Tyler McConnelland Nicholas Hernandez.  The Golden Rams closed the gap to (10-5) when Pierce Thomassingled up the middle to score Hill Corley and Malik Bell.
 
In the 8th inning, the Golden Rams scored when Lavoisier Fisher singled to score Malik Bell to make the score (12-6).  With the bases loaded, Chase Karn drew a walk to score Hill Corley.  Pierce Thomas scored on a fielding error to make the score (12-8).  Tyler McConnell singled to left field to score Chase Karn and Lavoisier Fisher to cut the lead to (12-10).
 
Hill Corley finished with 3 hits and 2 RBIs.  Chase KarnLachlan Ross and Tyler McConnell had 2 hits each for the Golden Rams.
 
The Golden Bears scored 3 runs in the top of the 9th inning the make the score (15-10).
 
Jeremiah Reddell pitched 6.2 innings for the Golden Rams.  Reddell fell to (8-4) on the season.  Long was the winning pitcher for the Golden Bears.  Long improved to (11-2).
