The Albany State men’s hoops team won their second straight game by defeating Tuskegee72-67 Monday night.
The first ten minutes of the contest was a back-and-forth affair that featured 7 lead changes and 5 ties.it appeared that Albany State may be beginning to assert control over the game when Terin Wofford’s dunk put the Golden Rams up 18-13 with 9:32 left in the half. Tuskegee outscored Albany State 11-6 over the next 3:14 to tie the game at 24 on Martez Jones’ dunk. The teams swapped the lead twice and tied two other times before Albany State would get out in front by as much as 8 point before taking a 36-30 lead into halftime.
The Golden Tigers spent the entire second half playing catch up falling behind by as much as 10 and drawing to within a single point,51-50 on Steve Dulley’s jumper with 8:16 remaining, but couldnever breakthrough and take the lead and their bid ultimately came up five points short, 72-67.
Tuskegee shot 56% (14-25) in the second half but did themselves no favors by shooting 28.6% (2-7) from downtown and missing 8 of their 15 free throw attempts. In a losing effort Steve Dulley lead the Golden Tigers with 18 points on 6/10 and 3/7 from downtown.Martez Jones added 16 points and 11 rebounds; Reco hallmon chipped in with 16 points of her own but also had 4 rebounds and 4 steals.
Maurice Dickson lead three Rams in double figures with 22 points; Terin Wofford added 15 points and 5 rebounds ; Reggie James chipped in 14 points and 4 boards.
The Golden Rams will look to extend their win-streak to three games when they host Lane College; tip off is scheduled for 3:00 pm EST.
