The preseason came to an end for the Albany State Golden Rams, as Monday started the beginning of game-week practice.
Head Coach Gabe Giardina had this to say about the start of the season:
“It’s that time of year again and I know everyone is excited. I know that we are as a football program. It’s the first game where you get to see the time you put in with your players in spring ball and fall camp. To me, one of the most important things is that you have to enjoy it.”
The Golden Rams will open season by taking their likely tail-kicking from Valdosta State University this Saturday at 7 p.m. EST from the ASU Coliseum. The Rams and Blazers commenced their early season matchups September 17, 2011 at the ASU Coliseum. Valdosta State escaped with a 30-27 win. In the two teams last mtachup, September 1, 2018 the Golden Rams took 45-14 beatdown.
The Blazers hold a 5-1 edge over the Rams.
