Albany State softball takes a pair of loses at Georgia Southwestern

The Golden Rams 3-game winning streak was snapped by the Georgia Southwestern University Hurricanes on Tuesday evening in Americus, Georgia.  With the loses, the Golden Rams fell to (21-13) overall.  The Hurricanes improved to (32-15). 
 
In game 1, the Golden Rams were defeated (9-1) by the Hurricanes. 
 
In the top of the 3rd inning, Keyatta Ayers hit a single to right field to score Ty’janae Brown.  The Golden Rams would maintain a (1-0) lead until the bottom of the 5th inning when the Hurricanes exploded for 7 runs.
 
Trista Murphy led the Golden Rams with 2 hits.  Murphy was 2/3 from the plate.
 
Mackenzie Chamblee pitched 4.1 innings for the Golden Rams.  Chamblee is now (7-4) on the season.
 
In game 2, the Golden Rams lost (10-2). 
 
The Golden Rams fell behind (8-0) after 4 innings against the Hurricanes.  In the top of the 5th inning, Morgan Brown hit a 2-run homer to close the gap to (8-2).  But, that would be the closest the Golden Rams would get against the Hurricanes.
 
Glory Seay led the Golden Rams with 3 hits.
 
Romona McLeod pitched 3.1 innings for the Golden Rams.  McLeod is (5-3) on the season.
