Albany State splits home doubleheader with Savannah State

The Albany State women and men’s basketball teams split with the Savannah State Tigers on Senior Day at the ASU East Campus Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.  Both games came down to the final seconds.
 
In the women’s game, the Tigers defeated the Golden Rams (58-54).  With the loss, the Golden Rams fall to (7-17) overall and (5-13) in the SIAC.  The Tigers improved to (17-6) overall and (13-5) in the SIAC.  
 
Milana Holmes led the Golden Rams with 15 points and 6 rebounds.  Unique Millercontributed with 8 points off the bench.
 
Nyla Allen led the Tigers with 12 points.  Bria Gibbs finished with 11 points and 9 rebounds.  Amari Heard contributed with 10 points and 4 rebounds.
 
Malik Parker hit the winning basket with 1.5 seconds remaining to give the Golden Rams a (53-51) win over the Tigers.  The Golden Rams improved to (8-18) overall and (8-12) in the SIAC while the Tigers fell to (15-9) overall and (13-7) in the SIAC.  
 
Sammy Mike finished with 13 points for the Golden Rams.  Malik Parker contributed with 11 points.
 
Eleik Bowles led the Tigers with 16 points while Andrew Okorodudu contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds.
