Albany State to take on Morehouse on Senior Day

For the 4th week in a row, the Albany State Golden Rams will play a SIAC foe that identifies themselves as the Tigers.  This week, the Golden Rams will welcome the Morehouse Maroon Tigers to campus.  The Golden Rams and Maroon Tigers will collide at 2:00 pm on Senior Day at the ASU Coliseum on Saturday, October 29.  The Golden Rams are (6-2) overall and (4-1) in the SIAC while the Maroon Tigers are (0-8) overall and (0-5) in the conference.
 
The Albany State University Golden Rams got back to their winning ways on last Saturday after defeating the Savannah State Tigers (31-20) in Savannah, Georgia.  It was a tough week for the Golden Rams as nearly 30 players missed practice time during the week.
 
The Golden Rams finished with 305 yards of total offense as Jhaydon Sullivancompleted 15 of his 20 attempts for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Ja’Quez Williams had 27 carries for 154 yards and 1 touchdown while Rashad Jordan had 4 catches for 32 yards and 2 touchdowns.
 
The Golden Rams “Dirty Blue” Defense held the Tigers to 252 yards of total offense.  Stephan Pierre led the Golden Rams with 9 total tackles.  Malik Barnes led the defense with 2 tackles for a loss.  Stephan PierreMalik Barnes and Eric Price recorded a sack for the Golden Rams.  Brandarious Rawlings had an interception for the Golden Rams.
 
The Morehouse College Maroon Tigers were defeated (35-0) on their Homecoming by the Benedict Tigers at BT. Harvey Stadium.  The loss was the Maroon Tigers 8th defeat in a row.
 
The Maroon Tigers Charles Daniels ran for 41 yards on the day on seven attempts.  Morehouse senior Dantez Simpson led the defense with 10 tackles.
 
The Golden Rams and Maroon Tigers last played in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, October 30, 2021.  On that day, the Golden Rams defeated the Maroon Tigers (14-10) in a defensive battle that came down to the 4th quarter.
