Tennessee State’s DeVaughn Slaughter named OVC-Big South Freshman of the Week

Tennessee State wide receiver DeVaughn Slaughter was named Ohio Valley BIG South freshman of the week for his own field exploits this past week. In the Tigers 24-21 season opening win over North Carolina A&T Slaughter caught an 82-yard touchdown pass that tied the game at 7 in the first quarter. A Waterville, ME man was arrested in connection with a robbery of a local sneaker store.  According to Major Jason Longley of the Waterville Police Department, a call was received about a robbery taking place at the Shoe Department Encore store located on JFK Plaza shortly before 7pm on August 11.  Store employees were able to provide officers with a description of the alleged robber and the vehicle in which he drove off.  A mere 10 minutes after the heist, police located the suspect’s vehicle.
