“Black/Lapis”Nike Shox BB4 OG Returns August 28 for $190

A Nike Basketball classic is making its return.

The “Black/Lapis” Nike Shox BB4 OG is set to return on August 28, 2026, bringing back one of the most recognizable silhouettes from Nike’s early-2000s basketball era. The retro will retail for $190 and carries style code IR1984-010.

Originally introduced in 2000, the Shox BB4 was designed by legendary Nike designer Eric Avar and quickly became associated with one of basketball’s most electrifying players, Vince Carter. Although the BB4 was not officially Carter’s signature sneaker, his connection to the model helped cement its place in sneaker and basketball history.

The “Black/Lapis” colorway is especially significant because of its connection to Carter’s Toronto Raptors era. The sneaker features a predominantly black upper with Metallic Silver panels, while Lapis accents appear throughout the midsole and signature Shox cushioning columns in the heel.

The design remains unmistakably Y2K Nike Basketball, highlighted by its futuristic, space-inspired construction and four visible Shox columns under the heel. The original model was heavily promoted around Nike’s Shox technology, which became one of the brand’s defining performance innovations of the era.

This release also marks the return of the colorway following its previous retro in 2019.

The Shox BB4 “Black/Lapis” is part of Nike’s continued revival of its classic Y2K-era basketball footwear, giving longtime collectors another opportunity to revisit a model closely tied to Vince Carter’s legendary career.

For sneakerheads who remember the golden era of Nike Basketball—or for a new generation discovering it—the BB4 is one retro worth watching.
