The Bowie State athletic training department and Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics & Recreation have announced the addition of Courtnee Springs as the Assistant Athletic Trainer. She will join Head Athletic Trainer Caitlin Lovend.
“The Bowie State Sports Medicine Department is excited to welcome new Assistant Athletic Trainer Courtnee Springs,” said Lovend. “It is great to be able to come into the spring semester with an additional set of hands to provide care to our student-athletes. In the few short weeks of being at Bowie State, she has been met with a positive and warm welcome from the administration, coaches, and student-athletes.”
Springs joined Bowie State in January after spending time as the athletic trainer at Lackey High School for ProFlex Physical Therapy.
The native of Burlington, N.C. graduated from Chowan University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. She received her master’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2019.
Springs is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association. She is certified as a Professional Rescuer in CPR, First Aid, and AED and is certified in the use of Hawk Grips.
