New Balance prep’d to drop new X-Racer Sneaker

New Balance is gearing up to release the second shoe in the X-Racer series.  The follow up to the original X-90 will come in three colorways- a vibrant green based one, a white based version, and a black and navy. This latest edition draws inspiration from various shoes from the mid 1990’s and early 2000’s: the M1000, M1200, and the RC205. The ‘Curse of the Bambino” inspired this Concepts and New Balance collaboration

Using the 997S as their canvas, Concepts has unveiled their latest collaboration which is inspired by the rivalry between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.  They are monikered “Esruc” which pays homage to the curse of the Bambino when Babe Ruth was sold by the Sox to the Yankees back in 1920.  Upon visual inspection one will notice that the sneaker does not take its aesthetic from the Yankees or the Red Sox but rather from posters used for the Broadway musical No, No, Nanette, which apparently was…

New Balance Special Edition Kawhi 2-Way Pack to release tonight

New Balance will be releasing a special edition two sneaker pack for the face of their basketball space, Mr. Kawhi Leonard. The nbhoops instagram account teased the pack both in their story and on their feed. The pack will feature the OMN1S and a 997. The OMN1S appears to feature a upper that features black and blue. Last week, New Balance dropped a teaser video of their upcoming basketball sneaker featuring Kawhi Leonard ( and took some not-so-subtle runs at a few prominent players). In November, we covered Toronto Raptors small forward Kawhi Leonard had reached an multiyear endorsement deal with New Balance . Leonard’s sneaker options were wide open after he rejected a 4-year, $22 million dollar extension on his, at the time, deal with Jordan Brand. A New Balance manager has been charged with stealing thousands of dollars worth of shoes from the company’s South Union Street factory. Kawhi Leonard signs endorsement deal with New Balance

Earlier today, Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes reported that Toronto Raptors small forward Kawhi Leonard reached an agreement with New Balance on a multiyear endorsement deal. Leonard turned down a 4-year, $22 million dollar extension with Jordan Brand earlier this year. That deal expired this year which made him a sneaker free agent. Kawhi will serve as the face of New Balance basketball, as like brands Converse and Puma, are looking to re-establish a presence in the performance basketball space. Terms of the deal with Leonard were not immediately released.    …

Darius Bazley skips G League to take Internship with New Balance

2018 McDonald’s All-American Darius Bazley initially had a scholarship at Syracuse until I March he decided to forego that to play a season in the G-League ( can we go back to calling it the D-League?). The Orange Bowl Committee, a non-profit sports organization that serves South Florida, in partnership with TD Bank, worked with local schools to collect over 1,300 pair of shoes. Their Kicks for Kids program, (not to be confused with the Kicks 4 Kids.
