NBA releases Eastern Conference second round playoff schedule

With the first round wrapping up, earlier today the NBA released the schedule for the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The second round action tips off Saturday with game 1 of the no 2. Toronto Raptors and the no.3 Philadelphia 76ers, but the time of the commencement of the game has not been finalized. Suns break off Kokoskov after one season

According to ESPN;s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Phoenix Suns have fired head coach Igor Kokoslov after just one season. Apparently, the Suns initially planned on bringing Kokoslov back for next season. It seems the club had their sights set on 76ers assistant Monty Williams, who the Los Angeles Lakers are also in pursuit of. The Suns went 19-63 in Kokoslov’s first , and last , season in Phoenix.

Brooklyn Nets Alternate Governor fined $35,000 by NBA

The National Basketball League announced earlier today that Brooklyn Nets alternate governor Joe Tsai was fined $35,000 for “making public statements detrimental to the NBA” in a recent tweet. He voiced is support of General Manager Sean Marks, who was fined for entering the referee’s locker room after Game 4 of their first round series with the Philadelphia 76ers. In doing that Tsai also called into question the rectitude of the officiating of the aforementioned game.

Things got a tad bit testy in Game 4 between the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers, and apparently it was not just limited to just the players. According to a press release disseminated by the NBA, Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks was suspended one game and fined $25,000 for entering the referees’ locker room after the game.
