Connecticut women’s basketball head coach Geno Auriemma responded to LeBron James about the controversial non-call late in the Huskies’ 69-67 win over Baylor in the Elite Eight on Monday. James tweeted that Connecticut should have been called for a foul on DiJonai Carrington’s last-second field-goal attempt: Auriemma told reporters James has never won a game in his career on a foul that wasn’t called “and decided to give it back because he looked at it and went, ‘That was a foul.’”

Grand Canyon Basketball player Oscar Frayer and two others killed in car crash

From Myron Medcalf of ESPN Grand Canyon standout Oscar Frayer died in a car accident in northern California early Tuesday morning, according to a release from the school. He was 23 years old. Frayer’s older sister, Andrea Moore, and a third person in their vehicle were also killed in the crash, the school confirmed Thursday. Frayer, a 6-foot-6 senior guard/forward, started in Grand Canyon’s 86-74 loss to Iowa in the first round of the NCAA tournament last week.
