Tennessee State dropped a pivotal Ohio Valley Conference game ,but the Homecoming Game, to Austin Peay 21-17. The Tigers would ultimately put themselves in a 14-3 hole, which they would dig themselves out, but eventually came up short. Albany State defeats Lincoln-Missouri 30-10

Albany State, powered by a defense that held Lincoln-Missouri scoreless in the second half, defeated the Blue Tigers 30-10. Albany State’s Marquez Thomas’ interception set the Golden Rams’ offense on the Lincoln 22-yard line. ASU would take advantage of the turnover on a Kelan Fraise 1 yard touchdown run. Defense helped seal deal in Tennessee State’s 45-21 victory over Eastern Kentucky

The Tigers of Tennessee State University were able to procure their first conference win this Saturday with a 45-21 win over Eastern Kentucky. TSU’s defense came out strong, pitching a shut out in the first half and only giving up 119 yards of offense. Tennessee State falls at UT Martin, 31-16

Tennessee State fell behind 24-0 to #24 UT Martin and it ultimately proved to be a hole too great for the tigers to climb out of as TSU suffered their first loss of the season, 31-16. Albany State routed by West Georgia, 48-16

It was a tough day at the office for the Albany State Golden Rams. ASU was on the wrong side of a 48-16 beatdown courtesy of West Georgia University. Although the Tennessee State and Florida A&M have met as recently as 2015, Saturday’s meeting in the inaugural Tampa Classic was a reprisal of their series in a Classic game that last happened in 2010 in the Atlanta Classic. Albany State claims victory in 4th White Water Classic

For the Golden Rams of Albany State University, the defense lead the way to their first victory over Tuskegee University in seven years. The Rams' defense held the Golden Tigers' offense to two first downs (you read that correctly, 2 first downs) on the day. The Tuskegee offense only managed 27 plays, had possession of the football for just 16:04 and only tallied a paltry 119 yards of total offense. Saturday's matchup between Albany State and Valdosta State is the 19th time the two schools have met. Valdosta State has dominated the series, compiling a 17-1 record. FANU used a combination of solid quarterback play from Ryan Stanley and stout defense in a dominating win over Texas Southern in the inagural Jake Gaithersburg classic. Stanley went 19-32 for 217 yards, one touchdown through the air and another on the ground and no interceptions.
