Alcorn’s Qwynnterio Cole inks deal with UFL team

Former Alcorn State safety Qwynnterio Cole has re-signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks.  Cole began his collegiate career at Alcorn State, where in his three seasons he recorded 170 total tackles ( 96 solo, 74 assisted) , 5 tackles for loss, 8 interceptions, 14 passes defensed, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.  The Memphis, Tennessee native racked numerous accolades including being named a 2-time HBCU All-American (2018, 2019), All-SWAC First Team (2018), Preseason All-SWAC First Team (2019) and FCS Preseason All-America (2020).  Cole transferred to Louisville for his senior…

Coastal Athletic Association reveals 2024-25 Men’s basketball conference opponents

Courtesy of the CAA The CAA has announced each institution’s men’s basketball conference opponents for the 2024-25 season. Teams will face each of the other 13 league members as part of an 18-game conference schedule. Each team’s slate consists of five repeat (home-and-away) opponents, four home-only opponents, and four away-only opponents to provide each team with nine home and nine road contests. Tarik Cohen retires from football, ends comeback bid

Despite him saying he “definitely” feels all the way back earlier this week, former North Carolina A&T running back Tarik Cohen has announced his retirement from the game of football.  After a stellar career at NCAT that saw him leave as MEAC’s all-time leading rusher with 5,619 yards, while also setting school records for rushing touchdowns (56), total touchdowns (59), and points, Cohen was drafted in the 4th round, 119th overall, by the Chicago Bears in the 2017 NFL Draft. The five-game tilt features two road games and three at the friendly confines of the United Center.  Things get started with a Tuesday, October 8 road matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
