Sunday the Toronto Raptors defeated the Phoenix Suns 127-109, handing the Suns their eighth loss in their last ten games. Kevin Durant was unusually quiet, scoring just 15 points and grabbing 4 rebounds, however, the defense of Scottie Barnes had a lot to do with Durant’s tough night at the office, as he harassed the normally efficient Durant into just 5-15 from the floor. Gregg Popovich will not return to the team this season, future is murky

San Antonio Spurs Gregg Popovich will not return to the sidelines this season and his coaching future is clouded by uncertainty. Popovich, 76, is still recovering from a mild stroke he suffered in November which has put assumed return on tenuous grounds.  Popovich heads the NBA’s wins list as a coach with 1,390 victories and is 3rd all-time with 170 postseason wins. Hampton hoops games postponed due to inclement weather

image via Hampton Athletics The CAA announced Tuesday afternoon that a pair of Hampton basketball games will be postponed due to pending inclement weather.  The men’s basketball game between Hampton (14-13, 6-8) and Stony Brook (6-21, 2-12), which was initially scheduled to take place Thursday, February 20 at 7 pm will now take place Monday, February 24 at noon.  Hampton’s women (6-18, 2-11) were slated to take on Charleston (17-6, 8-4), Friday, February 21 at 7 pm EST was pushed back until Tuesday, February 25 at noon. Tennessee State falls to Eastern Illinois, 69-49

The no.1 defensive team in the Ohio Valley Conference, Eastern Illinois, held Tennessee State to sub 40% in three of four quarters as the Panthers handily defeated Tennessee State 69-49 Thursday night.  The Panthers controlled the first quarter, trailing in the period.
