Track organization bans transgender athletes from elite female competitions

Courtesy of ESPN News Services World Athletics has banned transgender women from competing in elite female competitions if they have gone through male puberty, the sport’s governing body said Thursday. Organization president Sebastian Coe said at a news conference that the decision by the World Athletics Council to exclude transgender women was based “on the overarching need to protect the female category.” Coe added that World Athletics would form a task force to study transgender inclusion that would be chaired by a transgender athlete. From Olympic Talk: Star sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson tested positive for marijuana after winning the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials 100m, was banned one month and is disqualified from racing the event at the Tokyo Games. “I want to take responsibility for my actions,” Richardson said on TODAY on Friday. “I know what I did. North Carolina A&T wins 2019 Men’s MEAC Outdoor Track&Field Championship

1996 Olympic Champion Bruny Surin sues Puma

Bruny Sarin, A former sprinter and member of the Canadian 4 x 100 m relay that won gold at the 1996 Summer Olympics,is suing Puma.
