Stephen Curry signed sneakers of girl who died during basketball game

Kimberly Nuestro was a  Golden State Warriors fan and student at Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. The 16-year old sophomore, and captain of her junior varsity basketball team, was playing a club basketball game last Saturday night when she passed out and was later pronounced dead Sunday at Stanford Medical Center. Stephen Curry raises $45,157 for Oakland fire victims

The December 2nd fire in Oakland at the Ghost Ship warehouse that tragically ended the lives of 36 people was indeed an unfortunate event. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has decided to pitch in to help the victims of this adverse situation. Curry auctioned off two pairs of game worn sneakers to help the victims of the fire.  According to the Warriors, the kicks , which were the “Oakland Strong” version of his Curry 3’s, Curry wore in their December 15th game against the New York Knicks. The tasks of producing much of the footwear we wear left for Asia many moons ago. However, technology could be bringing them back. Game 4 was a tale of two halves: in the first half, Cleveland’s defense and rebounding powered them to a five point halftime lead. After not only dropping both games at Oracle, in particularly embarrassing fashion game 2, I wondered how the Cavaliers would respond by returning home for game 3. The Cavaliers took control from the tip off the strength of a dominant first quarter and never looked back. After, getting worked in the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the Finals, it was expected that the Cleveland Cavaliers would come out with a much better effort in what was tantamount to a must win game. Muhammad Ali Dies at 74

Global icon and boxing legend Muhammad Ali died last night at the age of 74. This was confirmed in a statement issued by Bob Gunnell, the family spokesman late Friday evening.  The news came a day after Ali was admitted to an as of yet unnamed Phoenix-area hospital. He was born  Cassius Marcellus Clay on January 17,1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. He changed his name after he converted to Islam.  Transcending his athletic prowess, he spoke out against racism and the Vietnam war. So strong were his convictions that he was…

Howard and Under Armour reach outfitting deal

Howard University and Under Armour have agreed a deal that makes the Baltimore based brand the designer and game day uniform provider for all of the school’s 19 men’s and women’s varsity athletic teams as well supply teams with apparel and accessories. Terms of the multi-year deal, which goes into effect July 1, were not disclosed.  This deal marks UA’s first pact with a Historically Black College and University (HBCU).
